From Email to Disaster – Cyber Threats in Maritime Shipping

How can modern cyberattacks interfere with navigational data and influence decisions made on the bridge? The panel will demonstrate a real-world chain of events – from initial access through IT systems, through the manipulation of GNSS and AIS data, to the point where digital interference translates into the vessel’s actual course.

Against this backdrop, we will explore how UKSC and IACS UR E26/E27 requirements provide a coherent framework for building resilience across the maritime IT/OT environment. Representatives of maritime administrations, classification societies, insurers, and industry will translate regulations into practice: procedures, accountability, and real-world operational decisions.
